Sora 2 isn’t over yet.
Yes—you can still create with Sora 2 on afterSora. Our extended-access window runs until 31 October 2026. If there’s a scene you never finished, a prompt you kept saving, or an idea you thought you had missed your chance to try, this is your final window on afterSora.
No subscription is required. Choose Sora 2 in the dashboard, set your format and duration, and start creating with credits. We checked access on 17 October 2026 and confirmed completed Sora 2 jobs in our production records. That is evidence of current access, not a guarantee that every future request will succeed.
Extended access—not a reopened app
This is access to OpenAI’s Sora 2 model within afterSora’s own creative workflow. It does not bring back the original Sora app, restore its accounts or import its old projects. Nor is it an announcement of a worldwide extension.
afterSora is an independent platform, not the creator of the Sora model. You work in your afterSora account, with your prompts, projects and generated outputs in one place.
What you can make right now
- 4, 8 or 12-second videos at 720p, in landscape (16:9) or portrait (9:16).
- Synchronized generated audio: describe dialogue, atmosphere and sound effects in your prompt. Results vary; exact speech is not guaranteed.
- Text-to-video, or one first-frame reference image. Character, world and uploaded-image references share that single visual slot—not one slot each.
- 1 credit per second for standard generation: 4, 8 or 12 credits per video. Optional prompt optimisation is a separate charged service.
- This access is Sora 2, not Sora 2 Pro. Square output, higher resolutions, source-video input, Extend, Re-cut, Remix and Loop are not available for this Sora 2 route.
Make the first shot count
Start with one subject, one clear action and one camera move. Add the setting, lighting and sound that matter. For a four-second shot, keep the action simple; use eight or twelve seconds when the scene needs a beginning, a change and a final beat.
For example: A lone cyclist stops beneath a streetlight in light rain. The camera slowly pushes in as she looks up. Wet asphalt reflects warm light; rain and a distant bicycle bell are heard. This is a suggested prompt, not a claim that the illustration above was generated with Sora 2.
The 2× offer: standard credits plus Sora 2 bonus credits
While the eligible offer is active, a credit pack includes its normal standard credits plus an equal number of Sora 2-only bonus credits. A 75-credit pack, for example, becomes 75 standard credits + 75 Sora 2 bonus credits: 150 total, not 150 unrestricted credits.
Standard purchased credits work across supported models and do not expire. The additional bonus can only fund Sora 2 generation. Earned Sora 2 bonus credits have no scheduled credit expiry, but they need Sora 2 to remain available to be usable. They do not automatically turn into credits for other models.
The offer cannot be combined with Legacy Wallet, referral, Trial Pass or another credit promotion. Confirm the eligible allocation in your checkout summary before paying. The current offer deadline is 17 October 2026 at 23:59 US Eastern, separate from the 31 October model-access window. Any extension must be shown by the live offer; this article does not extend it.
After the access window
Plan to finish your Sora 2 generations by 31 October. Access availability can change; do not rely on new Sora generation beyond the advertised window.
Completed videos already saved in afterSora are separate from new generation access. Ending access does not itself delete those saved files, but download important outputs and keep your own backups. This is not a promise of indefinite hosting.
Your remaining standard purchased credits stay available for supported models under the normal credit terms. Sora-only bonus credits are different: a non-expiring balance does not guarantee that a retired model remains usable, and no automatic conversion or cash payout is promised.
